GreenArTiCPeace

"The fragile Arctic is under threat from both climate change and oil drilling. As climate change melts the Arctic ice, oil companies are moving in to extract more of the fossil fuels that caused the melt in the first place. But above the Arctic circle, freezing temperatures, a narrow drilling window and a remote location mean that an oil spill would be almost impossible to deal with. It's a catastrophe waiting to happen. Greenpeace is working to halt climate change and to stop this new oil rush at the top of the world."

Its apparent that as a whole we our damaging our earth. However, Greenpeace is trying  to put an end to Artic Drilling. They have created blog sites using social media to relate to those who share the same interest as they do to enhance our way of taking care of our resources. They have also provided artic maps which distinguish how
we are breaking down our elements for personal gain. Their are also a donation link in which people who have blogged and shared the same interest to stop artic drilling. Because of the blogs green peace have created European Parliament has backed Greenpeace vision for an artic sanctuary.

"The European Parliament today passed a Resolution promoting strong protection of the environment of the Arctic region.  They called for (among other things) the establishment of a Sanctuary in the high seas region around the North Pole."

http://savethearctic.org/ Is a link created through social media to get individuals to sign a petition not just from artic drilling but also industrial fishing. Targeting goal is 6,000,000.
